Burnhead Moss Wind Farm is a 13-turbine wind farm located near Avonbridge, just outside Glasgow. The site has a generating capacity of 26MW, which is estimated to power up 16,000 homes per year. Individual turbine rating is 2.00MW with a 80m hub height and 90m diameter blades.

CHP was involved from initial investment appraisal stage to close out of the final accounts. CHP provided construction related cost planning, cost management and cost reporting services. In association with the EDF project team, CHP developed procurement documentation for the Civils and Electrical Balance of Plant works packages. CHP was responsible for the commercial management of all construction operations.

Challenges

The project was spilt into enabling and main works phases. Balance of Plant contractors were procured based upon an original programme, with negotiated arrangements for the final construction programme

Achievements

Full commercial management role undertaken by CHP, from inception to completion. Delivery of the project to the safety, cost, time and quality requirements of the client
